What are the most popular braids?
Box Braids and Cornrows are both popular braiding techniques, particularly for those with curly hair who may be children, women, and men. It protects the natural hair and allows the braider to be creative. Cornrows are the base for many other braided styles, such as crotchet, lemonade braids, feed-in braids, and goddess braids. This technique is thousands of years old and comes with a rich history. Let your crown share your message!
What hair styles can you do with braids?
You can do almost any hairstyle with braids. Tie them up into a ponytail, high or low bun, or half-up half-down styles. Try additional twisting or curling of the braids to form a more formal look. When it comes to more eurocentric techniques such as French, Dutch, and Fishtail braids, you can pin up or add accessories to any of these techniques.
How do you make a braided hairstyle?
The basic technique for braids involves dividing a section of your hair into three parts and crossing those around each other. You’ll gradually add more hair in as your progress down. French braids are done overhand, bringing the strands over, while Dutch and Cornrow braids are done underhand, bringing additional hair underneath. Of course, the more intricate you get, or the different styles you try, the technique will vary.
What is the easiest type of braid?
A simple three-strand plait is the easiest braid to do. It uses all of your hair divided into three parts and pulled over each other to create the braid. It doesn’t add additional hair unless you are choosing to do so with synthetic or human hair that’s not on your head.
How long do box braids last?
Most people who invest in box braids, want to know how long they will last. Of course, the question of “how long can you keep box braids in?” has a lot to do with your own unique hair, how you treat it, and what preventative measures you take to keep it healthy. On average, box braids tend to last between 4 to 6 weeks. Although it’s fine to leave your braids in for 3-6-9 weeks, we don’t recommend keeping them in any longer than 3 months.

The time frame will depend on many various factors: is your hair long, short, fine, coarse, adding hair… etc. The most important thing you can do is not plan anything else on the same day of your appointment.
